Strange kiss, exhibition, June 2017- Hamburg
“Strange Kiss” is a very distinctive illustration of a sensual moment which cannot be characterized in more detail. It can be disturbing or pleasing. Many things can emerge from it: madness, insights, and – in particular – art. It is expressive, albeit not expressionistic art.
It is an artistic approach which takes colors and forms as a means for expressing an idea; evoking feelings, emotional experiences and associations. It does this in a polyvalent, ambiguous, multi-valued way - as any impressive, empathic art does.

The work “Imbalance – der Zustand des Seins aus dem Gleichgewicht” (“Imbalance – the state of being out of balance”) from 2015 closes the circle that began with “Strange Kiss”. In the best sense of an allegory, two figures – one of which is holding the other in an alarmingly fragile balance – embody the current social instability. The world is in limbo at the moment. In the end, it is up to all of us to contribute to deciding which way the scales will tip.
